Waterfalls carve out deep, natural pools of refreshing water for play and relaxation.

    Waterfall Trek: All the Details

    Prepare for your Waterfall Trek

At ATPR, we care that your adventure exceeds your expectations, leaving you with nothing but positive memories and good vibes. So we hope you'll keep the following advisements in mind when preparing for your waterfall trek.

    Guest Information

    • Waterfall treks do not come with restroom facilities, so guests should prepare by using the toilet in advance or be ready for sneaking into the bush as needed. Also, guests should arrive with their swim suits on under dry clothes to start enjoying the water of the creek or riverbed as soon as possible.
    • Guests should plan to get wet and have fun doing it. Waterfall treks may involve walking over rocks and through streams or up a dry riverbed with areas we must wade through. At times, the trail may be muddy. No worries. You'll wash it off in the next natural pool, but be sure to get photos before you do!
    • Guests should wear gym shoes, sneakers, or water shoes with soles that grip when wet to help prevent slipping on rocks. Shoes with holes often fill with small pebbles, dirt, or sand; while gym shoes that tie up help to keep out annoying debris.
    • If guests cannot swim, let us know, and we will issue life vests. Some tours may require guests wear vests or helmets. It's expected that guests will use any recommended equipment.
    • We are experts at the excursions that we offer, and we learn about local hazards in advance and plan to avoid them. We expect that guests will defer to our knowledge and advice so as not to endanger themselves or others. This is especially important when it comes to jumping from or sliding down waterfalls.
    • Some waterfalls have been jumped many times, and experience tells us they are "safe." However, objects below the water may include tree limbs or large debris that are not visible to the eye from the surface. If water is not clear, natural pools must be snorkeled for safety before any jumps should take place.
    • All participants must sign "Participant’s Acknowledgement of Risks, Assumption of Risk & Responsibility, and Release of Liability" form.
    • Guests are expected to participate in a safety briefing in advance of the waterfall trek. The trek guide may cancel the trek if a group appears to be reckless.
    • Complimentary water and fruit will be provided to guests free of charge. Any special requests for food or drink items should be part of the tour package price and paid for in advance with the balance of the tour price.
    • Photos and videos come with your waterfall trek. Guests may take their own photos and videos, but for most, it's better to relax, enjoy, and let us take the photos. Any guest who does not want to end up on someone's social medial should let ATPR (and other members of the group) know in advance of the tour, and we will try our best to leave them out of photos.
    • Unless a photo package is an add on to the tour at an additional fee, all photos are the property of ATPR and the client, either of which may use them for social media or marketing.

We encourage guests to bring the following items:

    • Gym shoes, sneakers, or water shoes that grip when wet, as described above.
    • Zip lock storage bags for any electronics on the trek. All highly-valued items should be locked in vehicles.
    • Waterproof cameras, if desired, for additional photos
    • Reef-safe sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats, rash guards or long-sleeved shirts help to prevent sunburn. It's best to put on any sunscreen at least 1-hour prior to entering water. Sunscreens and insect repellents pollute the waterways and should be used very sparingly.
    • Waterfall water is normally cool and fresh. During cooler months of the year, a towel and dry clothing for after may help prevent a chill. Anyone who gets cold easily should bring a cover up just in case.
    • Guests are advised to bring re-usable water containers to minimize the use of single-use plastic.
    • All trash and personal items must be collected and taken out of the wild spaces after the excursion.
    • If food is ordered for your group, please consider tipping a small amount to the chef, especially if he has attended the excursion and carefully prepared and delivered the food himself. Tips are optional but much appreciated during this difficult time.

    COVID-19 Safety Compliant

We are living through extremely challenging times, and SARS-Cov2, the virus that causes COVID-19, leaves us

with no choice but to take precautions to prevent exposure and spread of the life-threatening virus.

    • ATPR takes the protection of our guests' health seriously, so we've committed to following the extensive guidelines put forth by the Puerto Rican Department of Tourism to provide our guests with a safe, yet fun, experience with all the joy of the past but with a few extra precautions.

Here are the precautions guests will observe during Adventure Time PR experiences:

    • Excursions will be private and consist of only one group booking together.
    • All participants must wear a personal protective mask except when swimming, eating, or staying at a distance greater than 10 feet from others; otherwise, please mask up.
    • Guests should bring their own masks, but we will have a supply on hand, just in case.
    • All participants will be briefed on necessary distancing upon arrival and asked to comply for the safety of everyone. During the brief, guests will be spaced apart in individual groups traveling together in a circle around your host.
    • All issued equipment has been sanitized with an EPA-approved sanitizer known to protect against SARS-Cov2.
    • Hand sanitizer will be available for all guests to use at any time.
    • It is our pleasure and responsibility to ensure a safe and fun experience for my guests, so we are open to feedback on ways to make the experience even safer.
    • We are unable to provide transportation or to store personal items, in our vehicle
    • I thank you for helping me to make your experience safe and pleasurable!
